8th May 2014 Cape Keraudren

Getting up early as we seem to be doing while on holiday, it was breakfast then headed out to Pardoo roadhouse for some bait, we took our 2kg gas bottle to see about filling it, they wanted $20, so it wasn't filled, the 9kg cost  $40 at Carnarvon.
When we got back it was time for a very long walk on the beach the opposite way to the way we had gone the day before.
It was checking out more ponds with lots of shovel nosed sharks, octopus and baitfish, we particularly wanted to check a pond we had seen a jabaru wading in the day before.
Lovely long Beach but shallow with the tide out, when we were ready for a rest we went in for a cool off dip.
On the way back we stopped and spoke with some people who had their beach chairs and umbrella set up in the water while they fished, they had caught 1 good bream.
It was now lunch time, in the afternoon we took the canoes, as they were stiil pumped up, down to mosquito creek arond the mangroves, we fished awhile, only got smaller fish so Merv  attached one to my hook as a live bait, in the hope of a barramundi or mangrove jack,
Not much was happening till we were about to leave when something big, probably a trevalley, took my live bait and took off to the open sea towing me behind in the canoe, it eventually broke off, thank heavens or I would have a good paddle back in the wind.
Bit of cloud around pretty humid,  the sand flies love it, they have been giving me what for since 40 mile beach, so in these areas it is wise to have lots of spray, cover up as evening comes, oh and have some antihistamine for the itch and lumps, Merv is lucky they don't effect him.
