29th April 2014

Left caravan park around 9, went to the fishing shop as we had to buy  a new dip net, the other one finally gave up the ghost with the pinkies, we managed to get a fish friendly eco one.
Fueled the boat and vehicle and headed for 40 mile beach. It has certainly changed since we used to come out here about 5 years ago.
There is a caretaker that is on site and the camping season starts from 1st may, campers are allowed to stay up to 3 months at a time for $7 a day, but there are people here that has obviously been here for a long time already. The main difference id no chemical toilet no stay, which is real good keeps the place clean, they have put in rubbish bins snd dump points.
Set up camp then walked the beach checking where the reefs are at low tide, particularly around the launch area, bit windy today.
When the tide had gone right out we walked the reefs looking at all the amazing wildlife in the ponds that was left, some of them was quite big, I thought if it got too  hot sitting in there with a beer would be the ticket.
A beautiful peaceful  night, no generators and quite a distance to the next camp.
It was amazing lying in bed just looking out the windows at the stars, with no noise to spoil it, what a nights sleep.
