5th May 2014 Pardoo Station

I decided to go for an early morning walk to try and get some photos of birds, I had seen some nice one's but couldn't get closer enough to identify them.
I was about 15 minutes from camp when a large bull stepped out on the track approx  20 metres away, I decided it was time to make a hasty retreat.
Later when the tide was coming in we went to the beach to try catching a fish.
We tried the mouth of the river first, there was lots of birds, pelicans, oyster catchers, seagulls, terns and 2 osprey.
We caught a lot of cat fish and fed them to the birds,  the pelicans loved them,  we did try to get the osprey to take some but they were just a little nervous of getting too close.
There was a nice little saw shark, it was the first time Merv had seen one in the wild.
We then went out to the ocean side, but it was very shallow and there was a lot of sharks about, while standing knee it occurred to us it probably wasn't the best thing to do us it was perfect conditions for bull sharks, very cloudy merky water.
As we walked in there was a large ray in ankle deep water, which pointed out another real Hazzard if you can't see where you are putting your feet.
Chicken kebabs for dinner tonight, with a beer of course.
