Dawn chorus to wake to, just wonderful, went for a walk around the lake, watched the birds, talked to a nice couple from Mandurah who is travelling with their 2 young boys, they are doing home schooling and findind it very good, I wish I had.
Breakfast and pack up, head for Fitzroy Crossing.
Booked into The Fitzroy River Lodge, an absolutely beautiful caravan park, it is just over the Fitzroy River, and what a surprise, after driving through town and seeing the locals all sitting around in the park and the state of the town, to find a very large green park with shady trees, great swimming pool, eco tents for people who want to try one of those and motel rooms, there is a beautiful dinning room thats serves dinner every night and a bar that you can get a drink in during dinning hours.
The down side to Fitzroy Crossing is that no one can buy any take away alcohol, the only way to have a drink is in the bar and not until after 6pm, the silly part is anyone can take a ute to Broome, load it up and bring it back to sell to the locals at ridiculous prices.
We drove around checked out the river and where we might be able to get the canoes in, went back for a swim and dinner.
