20th, 21st, September 2014 Port Douglas

The wind was still too strong for the canoes so we decided to leave and head to Port Douglas.
We booked into the big4, which is a little out of town,  then went to check out the town.
The town is very clean and neat, quite pretty, we thought it would be a nice place to retire, we had a good look around after I had bought myself another phone.
The park was nice and quiet but it was hard to eat dinner without eating mosquitoes.
Next morning we went to town for breakfast then wandered around the local markets, they were quite big and popular.
The next best thing to do, we went to the beach for our first swim in the ocean in Queensland, it was pleasantly cool and the waves were just the right  size for body surfing, great fun.
We then went to the marina and bought some prawns from a boat, Merv cooked a fish pie for dinner.
